Afghans are concerned about mass starvation: WFP

by Aamaj News

WFP representative and country director for Afghanistan, Mary-Ellen McGroarty, said that unlike the rest of world which are concerned about Omicron-driven fifth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, Afghans are far more concerned about mass starvation they are facing now.

“Every time when I’m out and I’m talking to people, the two things are,  how am I going to feed my children and how am I going to keep my children warm for the winter?” McGroarty said.

People in Afghanistan are facing mass starvation which will lead to a new humanitarian catastrophe. After Taliban’s domination the US block all Afghan assets.
