Interfax News Agency citing foreign ministry of Uzbekistan reported that an international conference on Afghanistan will take place in Uzbekistan on July 25-26, with the participation of delegates from over 20 countries and international organizations.
“The key goal of the event is to elaborate a package of measures and proposals regarding the international community’s stance on the assistance to stability, security and post-conflict recovery of Afghanistan and its integration into regional cooperation processes to the benefit of multiethnic people of Afghanistan and the world at large,” the ministry’s press service said.
The accreditation of national and foreign media outlets to cover the forum will begin on July 1, the ministry said.
The news comes as Uzbekistan back in March 2018 and July 2021, hosted high-level international conferences on Afghanistan with the respective themes, “Peace Process, Security Cooperation and Regional Connectivity” and “Central and South Asia: Regional Connectivity, Challenges and Opportunities.”
