The US Department of Defense announced that last week it appointed a team to review the US forces withdrawal from Afghanistan.
“The Department is committed to understanding what worked and what did not work in Afghanistan, and we seek to incorporate that understanding into our planning and our strategic assessment going forward,” Pentagon spokesman Maj. Rob Lodewick said in the statement.
But he did not express that how much time will the team’s review take, he just pointed out that last week the team started its review, so he had no idea.
Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) releasing a report about 20-year war in Afghanistan said that current situation in Afghanistan is the result of incoherent strategy and unrealistic timelines that depended on a corrupt Afghan government.
The US forces withdrawal were chaotic, and all criticized the US for its hasty withdrawal.
