The US State Department spokesman, Ned Price, in a press briefing reacting to UN’s warning on collapse of Afghanistan banking system said that US is seeking for ways to ensure liquidity into Afghanistan’s economy.

“We are working with various UN bodies, including the UNDP to find creative ways that we can infuse not only humanitarian aid but also liquidity into the Afghan economy,” he said.

Price pointing to the US $474 million assistance, said that the United States believes that Afghanistan is experiencing an acute humanitarian crisis that was preexisting before the US withdrawal in August and has become worse since then.

He said all the countries, in particular Afghansitan’s nieghbors must provide assistance to Afghansitan.

On the other hand the UN welcomed the United States’ willingness to find ways to ensure liquidity into Afghanistan’s economy.

“We welcome the willingness of the US to find ways to ensure liquidity in Afghanistan’s economy,” UN spokesperson Farhan Haq told Sputnik on Monday.

The news comes as the world countries have repeatedly expressed their concerns about acute humanitarian crisis and collapse of economic system in Afghanistan.
