John Kirby, the Spokesperson for the US National Security Council on Monday, stated that his country has not recognized the Taliban and has no plans to recognize this group.
John Kirby further added that if the Taliban are seeking legitimacy, they must legitimately fulfill their obligations to the international community, the way they govern, especially their treatment of women. According to John Kirby, the Taliban have not only not fulfilled these commitments, but they have also taken the opposite path.
The Spokesperson for the US National Security Council said about the threat of terrorism in Afghanistan and remarked that the threat of Al-Qaeda decreased and it is unlikely that it will return to Afghanistan”.
More than two years have passed since the Taliban dominated Afghanistan, and so far no country has recognized the regime of this group.
