UNAMA expressed its grave concern regarding the forced marriage of Elahe with the former spokesman of the Taliban interior ministry, Qari Saeed Khosty.

UNAMA urged the Taliban to conduct a transparent investigation regarding this issue, and hold the perpetrators to account.

“We call on the de facto authorities to transparently investigate all alleged violations of women’s rights, to hold perpetrators to account and to ensure safety of Afghan women and girls,” UNAMA tweeted.

Before that Human Rights Watch had urged the diplomats in Kabul to immediately know the situation of Elahe and find her whereabouts.

Elahe is a medico that recently accused Qari Saeed Khosty of “raping and forced marriage”.

In the videos which are released she introduces herself as the daughter of one of the former generals that Qari Saeed Khosty beat her every night.

She claimed that she has been raped in Taliban’s intelligence prison, and the video of her has been taken by the Taliban.

On the other hand, Qari Saeed Khosty, confirmed that he married Elahe at her proposal six months ago, then realized that she has “problems in her belief system”, finally divorced her.
