The Untied Nations in its new report predicts that Gross domestic product (GDP) of Afghansitan has fallen by 20%, and it could reach to 30% in following year.
UNPS’s Resident Representative in Afghanistan, Abdullah Al Dardari, yesterday December 1 in his report to the UN called Afghansitan’s economic collapse as the worst one in history.
Mr. Al Dardari added he has not noticed such a rapid GDP decline during his mission in Syria, Venezuela, Lebanon, and other countries. He called this economic situation as
contraction of economy and said the result of this contraction equals to Syria’s 5-year civil war.
The United Nations also said that Afghansitan were not that much strong to endure the pandemic, drought and Taliban’s takeover simultaneously. According to this organization contraction of economy shows how the economy is fragile in Afghanistan.
The UN said that Afghansitan’s crisis is so deep, even unfreezing the Afghan frozen assets, reserve funds and humanitarian assistance cannot avoid the crisis.
The UN added that Taliban’s policy has accelerated the crisis and collapse of economy in Afghanistan.
After Taliban’s domination the level of poverty unprecedentedly have increased in Afghanistan, and people are living in crisis.
