Pakistan’s Dawn newspaper quoting the US Department reported that Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is seeking to overthrow the law and establish Sharia law in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.
The US State Department has warned Pakistan that the TTP seeks to expel the state from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and establish Sharia by waging a terrorist campaign against the military and state.
The report mentioned that after the Taliban takeover in Afghanistan, the Pakistani Taliban TTP utilizes the tribal belt along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border to train and deploy their operatives.
Referring to the widespread wave of attacks by Pakistan’s anti-government groups, including TTP, the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), and the militants of Islamic State-Khorasan (IS-K), the United States’ State Department said that Pakistan has experienced significant terrorist activities in the last year.
The report also emphasized that Pakistan has made little progress in eliminating all terrorist organizations.
Suicide and explosive attacks in Pakistan are increasing day by day. The Pakistani government says that the Afghan Taliban are behind the activities of the TTP and they have provided military training bases to the Pakistani Taliban. The government of Pakistan has recently put a lot of pressure on the Afghan Taliban to stop supporting the TTP, but a according to a Pakistani media the Taliban have agreed to disarm the TTP on the condition of providing fund by Pakistan’s side.
