Russian News Agency, TASS, reported that Pakistan officials have suspended the TAPI project because of current situation in Afghanistan.
Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Omar Ayub Khan told TASS, that after stabilizing the situation in Afghanistan, they will be able to return to the issue of construction.
He added that before stabilizing the situation in Afghanistan, implementation of TAPI project will be difficult.
TAPI is the name of a project that Turkmenistan exports its gas through a pipeline from Afghanistan to Pakistan and India, the contract of this project was signed in 2016.
The manufacturing cost of this project will be $22,500,000,000, and Afghansitan will receive $400,000,000 annually, because this pipeline passes through this country. By collapse of former government the work of TAPI and CASA-1000 has been suspended.
