Over 6,000 militants located in northeast part of Afghansitan: Rahmon

President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, in online meeting of the Collective Security Council (CSTO) suggested the establishment of a belt of security around Afghanistan.

TASS News Agency reported that Mr. Rahmon in a telephone conversation with Russian president, Putin, also talked about Afghansitan.

“Overall, according to the intelligence of Tajikistan, there are over 40 camps and terrorist training centers in Afghanistan’s northeastern provinces, which house over 6,000 militants,” the Takin president said during the CSTO emergency online summit on Kazakhstan.

Mr. Rahmon added that situation at Afghan-Tajik border getting more complicated every day, infighting takes place right along the border of Tajikistan.

According to him last week at one part of the border, more that 11 Taliban fighters killed and 18 others got injured.
