Sixteen Taliban fighters wounded as a result of an attack on their Corps in Herat

Sources in Herat told Aamaj News that this morning unknown gunmen opened fire on a coaster car of 207 Al-Farooq Corps carrying Taliban fighters in Herat.

According to the sources, 16 Taliban fighters wounded as a result of the attack, it has been reported that civilians have suffered casualties as well.

Taliban security officials said that the attackers were three people, and threw a grenade in the car.

The Taliban police spokesman in Herat, Mohammad Shah Rasouli, said that their forces took action immediately, and killed one of the attackers and two others fled the area.

Eyewitnesses said that the conflict lasted for half an hour, and heavy gunfire took place.

So far no group and individuals have claimed the responsibility.
