The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in an announcement said that yesterday the US Special Representative for Afghanistan, Thomas West, met virtually the OIC Secretary General’s Special Envoy for this country, Tarig Ali Bakhiet.
“An extensive range of critical issues were discussed, mainly humanitarian and economic assistance for the Afghan people, security developments, counterterrorism, and the right of Afghan girls to be allowed back to schools, being their essential right,” OIC added.
The U.S. Special Envoy for Afghan Women, Girls, and Human Rights, Rina Amiri, also attended this virtual meeting.
It is mentionable that countries all around the globe have repeatedly emphasized on reopening of girls’ schools, but Taliban say that they are working on a scheme to reopen the schools.
