Saudi FM: Afghanistan should not become haven for terrorist groups

Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud stated that Afghanistan “should not become a haven for terrorist organizations”.

The foreign minister of Saudi Arabia made these statements yesterday September 23 in his speech at the United Nations General Assembly in New York and said that his country emphasizes the importance of security and stability in Afghanistan.

He also pointed to the ban on education and work of women and girls by the Taliban and noted that Afghan women should be allowed to access education and employment.

Prince Faisal bin Farhan has also called for humanitarian assistance from the international community to the people of Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, during the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), the leaders and officials of different countries of the world pointed out the current situation in Afghanistan and expressed their concern about the presence of terrorists and the humanitarian crisis.
