Russia says situation in Afghanistan unlikely to improve

Russia expresses its pessimism about situation in Afghanistan, saying it is unlikely to improve.

Deputy secretary of Russia’s Security Council, Alexander Grebenkin, in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper says that situation in Afghanistan is still decaying, and will increase in the scale of drug trafficking, arms smuggling and uncontrolled migration. He adds that situation in Afghanistan is unlikely to improve.

He also says that situation in Afghanistan has no place for optimism.

Mr. Grebenkin, reiterates that terrorists can reach central Asian countries, and through Kazakhstan in Russia.
