spokesperson of India’s external affairs ministry, Arindam Bagchi, yesterday at a media briefing said that India is committed to send 50,000 tons of wheat to Afghanistan, and Indian authorities are in talks with Pakistani authorities about this issue.
Mr. Baghchi did announce a firm date, but pointed out that India earlier sent batches of humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan, and is committed to continue to help Afghans.
Earlier Pakistan had announced this country would allow India to send its assistance to Afghanistan through its territory. But it seems they have not reached an agreement yet.
India had urged Pakistan to allow this country to transfer its humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan through this country.
