Special Representatives of the US and EU who participated the OSlo talks, issued a statement about these talks.
The statement published by foreign ministry of Norway yesterday.
Representatives of Norway, France, the UK, Italy, Germany and the United States as well as the EU in this joint statement have emphasized the importance of respecting the human rights, and the need for forming an inclusive government for Afghanistan’s stable and peaceful future.
According to these representatives these talks did not represent Taliban’s legitimation, but Taliban must consider people’s concerns.
They added that the source of legitimation lies in Afghanistan, and Afghans legitimize any government.
According to the statement participants have emphasized the urgency of prevention of humanitarian catastrophe in Afghanistan, and appropriate measures to reduce the pain of Afghans across the country.
The EU and the US representatives also emphasized the importance of an inclusive government for better future of Afghanistan.
They called on Taliban to take steps to prevent mounting violation of human rights, arresting people, summary killings, torturing, and banning of women and girls to travel alone as well as they must allow women to work and education.
According to the statement the US and the EU governments are trying to expand their assistance to prevent the collapse of social services and support the economy of Afghanistan.
At last they pointed out the importance of flowing liquidity and supporting the banking system of Afghanistan to help the stability of Afghanistan’s economy.
