Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, met president of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, and emphasized that an inclusive government must be formed in Afghanistan.

“Iran and Tajikistan share concerns about Afghanistan. Both countries are worried about the spread of terrorism and the growth of takfiri groups in Afghanistan. We believe that those who are currently governing in Afghanistan should manage to include all groups by forming a comprehensive, inclusive government,” Iran’s Supreme Leader stated as Iranian media reported.

In the meantime, Tajik president also noted that security concerns in Afghanistan and spreading of terrorism are two common issues between Iran and Tajikistan.

“We want peace, tranquility and an inclusive government with presence of all ethnic groups in Afghanistan. We hope to overcome the concerns with rising cooperation between Iran and Tajikistan,” Rahmon said.
