Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has discussed the situation in Afghanistan with Asif Ali Khan Durrani, Pakistan’s special representative for Afghanistan affairs.
The Foreign Minister of Iran expressed his hope for the effective role of Iran and Pakistan in the developments of the region and Afghanistan and stated that the continuation of these consultations will help more peace and tranquility in the region, especially Afghanistan.
Iranian media have reported that the foreign minister of this country met with Asif Ali Khan Durrani in Tehran today September 13.
In this meeting, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian emphasized “the necessity of supporting regional initiatives within the framework of neighbors to help solve the challenges of Afghanistan”.
This is Asif Durrani’s first official visit to Iran since his appointment as Pakistan’s special representative for Afghanistan affairs.
