Iranian foreign minister, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, in a phone conversation with the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, called the security situation in Afghanistan “worrying”.

Abdollahian called the security and humanitarian situation in Afghanistan very “worrying” and underlined the need for the formation of an inclusive government with presence of all ethnic groups.

“The Ukraine crisis must not prevent attention of the international community to the humanitarian catastrophe in Afghanistan,” Iranian foreign minister emphasized.

Mr. Abdollahian pointing to the spread of poverty among the people in Afghanistan, urged the release of Afghan frozen assets.

Eight months after Taliban’s domination in Afghanistan no country has recognized them yet.

Iranian officials have repeatedly emphasized on formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan, but Taliban say that their government is an inclusive one.
