Associate director of the women’s rights division at Human Rights Watch, Heather Barr, reacting to new decision of Taliban called it a campaign for erasing women from public life.
“The Taliban campaign to erase women from public life is escalating fast,” Heather Barr said.
She referring to problems as a result of this decision said, “in addition to violating women’s rights to freedom and expression, this will also block access to information for people with impaired hearing who lip read and hearing people who rely on visual speech cues to help them understand people on TV.”
The news comes as Taliban have urged the TV channels that female presenters must cover their faces while they are on TV and present the programs. The decision of Taliban elicited bitter reactions.
