The UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, stated that doubling down in fossil fuels is not the solution while referring to climate crisis.
Guterres added that the horrors of the war in Ukraine must not put climate action on the back burner.
“The only path to energy security, stable power prices & a livable planet lies in accelerating the renewable energy transition,” he stated.
The news comes as since the Russia-Ukraine war, lots of countries have been trying to reserve double amount of gas to replace Russia’s gas.
It is mentionable that the conflict has blocked the transfer of gas to the EU, too.
