Deprivation of girls of education is “national treason”: Faiq

by Aamaj News

Naseer Ahmad Faiq, Chargé d’Affaires of the Afghanistan Permanent Mission to the UN, reacting to the closure of girls’ schools for one year said that deprivation of girls of education is a “national treason.”

“In all world, Afghanistan is the only country in which schools are closed for girls, the country needs humanitarian assistance and educated human resources to get rid of poverty and reach self-sufficiency,” he tweeted.

Last year on September 18 the Taliban allowed boys to return to schools, and announced that the girls’ schools would open in coming spring; yet they have not allowed girls above grade sixth to return to schools.
