ولودیمیر زلنسکی، رییس‌جمهور اوکراین به شهروندان کشورش ارزیابی مثبتی از جنگ ارایه کرد و از اوکراینی‌ها خواست که به مقاومت خود در برابر روسیه ادامه دهند.
او در سخن‌رانی‌اش اظهار داشته است: «ما مردمی هستیم که در این یک هفته، نقشه‌های دشمن را به هم ریختیم. آنان در این‌جا نه آرامشی دارند و نه غذایی، آنان حتی یک لحظه‌ای آرام را تجربه نخواهند کرد.»
نام‌برده علاوه کرده است که کشورش هرگز تسلیم نخواهد شد و اشغال‌گران با مقاومت شدیدی روبه‌رو خواهند شد.
زلنسکی در اخیر سخن‌رانی‌اش از غیرنظامیان به‌دلیل ایستاده‌گی در برابر حمله‌ی روسیه نیز تمجید کرد و افزود: «اوکراینی‌ها با دست‌خالی برای اخراج اشغال‌گران از شهرهای شان به خیابان‌ها آمده‌اند.»
رییس‌جمهور اوکراین از رهبران غربی خواست تا اعتراض‌های ضد جنگ در روسیه را مورد حمایت قرار دهند.
این در حالی‌ست که جنگ اوکراین ام‌روز وارد یازدهمین روز شد.
این جنگ تاکنون صدها کشته و نزدیک به ۱.۵ میلیون نفر را آواره کرده است.
