وزارت امور خارجه طالبان در واکنش به آتش‌‌زدن یک نسخه‌ای از قرآن در پایتخت دنمارک می‌گوید که «توهین به دین و عقیده‌ی نزدیک به دو میلیارد مسلمان تحت نام آزادی بیان به هیچ عنوانی قابل توجیه نیست».
وزارت خارجه طالبان امروز (یک‌شنبه، ۹دلو) در بیانیه‌ای این عمل را با «شدیدترین الفاظ محکوم» کره است.
طالبان هم‌‌چنین از کشورهای اروپایی خواسته که تا مسولیت خود را ادا و مانع هم‌چون اقدام‌های نفرت‌انگیز شوند.
گفتنی‌ست که پس از سویدن و هالند، این بار یک چهره‌ی سیاسی افراطی دنمارک، روز (جمعه، ۷دلو) یک نسخه‌ای از قرآن را در مقابل سفارت ترکیه در شهر کوپنهاگن، پایتخت دنمارک به آتش زد.
ترکیه، عربستان سعودی، کویت و برخی کشورهای اسلامی دیگر نیز این اقدام را محکوم کرده و خواستار جلوگیری از تکرار آن شده‌اند.
