سراج‌الدین مهر‌الدین، وزیر خارجه تاجیکستان گفته است که موضع دوشنبه در قبال طالبان تغییر نکرده است.
او روز (چهارشنبه، ۱۳ دلو) در نشست مطبوعاتی در وزارت خارجه تاجیکستان ابراز امیدواری کرده است که طالبان به گونه‌ی عملی آماده‌گی خود را برای مذاکرات با رهبران همه گروه‌های سیاسی و قومی به نمایش بگذارند.
او افزوده که خواست جامعه‌ی جهانی از طالبان تشکیل «دولت واقعأ فراگیر» است.
او در پیوند به تامین امنیت در مرز کشورش با افغانستان گفت که کشورش برای تحکیم مرزهای جنوبی خود تدابیر ضروری را در نظر خواهد گرفت.
پیش‌تر، امام‌علی رحمان، رییس جمهور تاجیکستان در نشست مجازی کشورهای عضو «سازمان پیمان امنیت جمعی» پیشنهاد کرده بود که یک کمربند امنیتی در اطراف افغانستان ایجاد شود.
