جستن ترودو، نخست‌وزیر کانادا در یک سفر از قبل اعلام نشده وارد شهر کی‌یف، پایتخت اوکراین شد.
گفته می‌شود که نخست‌وزیر کانادا با ولودیمیر زلنسکی، رییس‌جمهور اوکراین و سایر مقام‌های آن کشور در کی‌یف دیدار کرده و سفارت کانادا را که حدود دو ماه پیش در شهر کی‌یف بسته شده بود، دوباره بازگشایی کرد.
نخست وزیر کانادا از کمک‌های نظامی و بشری بیش‌تر کشورش به اوکراین یادآوری کرده و ولادیمیر پوتین، رییس‌جمهور روسیه را متهم به جنایت‌های جنگی در اوکراین کرد.
قابل ذکر است که پس از حمله‌های نظامی روسیه بر اوکراین، شمار زیادی از مقام‌های کشورهای جهان به اوکراین سفر کرده‌اند و وعده کمک‌های هرچه بیش‌تر را به این کشور داده‌اند.
