جبهه‌ی مقاومت ملی ام‌روز (سه‌شنبه، ۲۴ حوت) در اعلامیه‌ای به مناسبت ۲۴ حوت، سال‌روز قیام مردم هرات گفته است که افغانستان زیر حاکمیت طالبان قرار گرفته است و آنان می‌خواهند با زور میله‌ی تفنگ حاکمیت مستبدانه‌ی خود را بر مردم افغانستان تحمیل کنند.
در این اعلامیه که از سوی صبغت‌الله احمدی، سخن‌گوی جبهه‌ی مقاومت نشره شده، آمده: «جبهه‌ی مقاومت برای مردم اطمینان می‌دهد که تا رهایی از استبداد گروه جهل لحظه‌ی آرام نخواهد ماند.»
جبهه‌ی مقاومت علاوه کرده است که هیچ مستبدی در افغانستان دوام نیافته و این استبداد قرن نیز مستدام نخواهد ماند.
در سال‌های گذشته جهادهای سابق از جمله محمد اسماعیل‌خان در مراسمی از ۲۴ حوت در هرات گرامی‌داشت می‌کردند.
ام‌سال اما مقام‌های محلی طالبان در هرات در یک مراسم از این روز گرامی‌داشت کرده‌اند.
