رسانه‌های ایران به نقل از سرهنگ احمد شیرانی؛ رئیس مرکز اطلاعات و کنترل ترافیک راهور از ثبت ۱۱۱ تصادف در سفرهای نوروزی خبر داده و گفته است که تا اکنون ۱۲۵ شهروند این کشور در نتیجه حادثات ترافیکی جان خود را از دست داده‌اند.
به نقل از این رسانه‌ها سفرهای نوروزی در ایران در مقایسه با سال گذشته ۱۲ درصد افزایش یافته است. گفته می‌شود در سه روز نخست طرح نوروزی ۱۱۱ وقوع تصادف فوتی ثبت شده است.
آقای شیرانی افزوده است که دو هزار و ۸۹۵ نفر در این حادثه‌ها مجروح شده‌اند. او هشدار داده است که این آمار «بسیار نگران‌کننده» است و این باید به‌عنوان هشدار و «زنگ خطری» برای رانندگان در سفرهای نوروزی باشد.
رئیس مرکز اطلاعات و کنترل ترافیک راهور دلیل وقوع این رویدادها را عدم توجه راننده‌گان، سرعت بالا در رانندگی و اصرار رانندگان به استمرار رانندگی بدون استراحت و توقف عوامل اصلی در سه روز گذشته خوانده است.
