معزالدین احمدی، رییس اطلاعات و فرهنگ ولایت بدخشان به رسانه‌ها می‌گوید: «یک ماین باقی‌مانده از رژیم قبلی در پوسته‌ی محافظتی مربوط پُل دانش‌گاه فيض آباد بدخشان به اثر حادثه طبیعی صبح ام‌روز انفجار کرد.»
او گفته است که در این حادثه به کسی آسیب نرسیده است و شایعات دیگر به استثنای این گزارش دروغ محض می‌باشد.
شاهدان عینی اما می‌گویند که در این روی‌داد یک دانش‌جوی دختر به‌طور سطحی زخم برداشته است.
در همین حال یک باشنده محل برخلاف گفته‌های مسوولین طالبان، به آماج می‌گوید که مواد انفجاری از گذشته نه بلکه به تازگی جاسازی شده بود.
