The Taliban military campaign to deploy fighters from south part of Afghanistan to north in particular in Panjshir, Andarab and Takhar and torture as well as massacre of civilians have elicited bitter reactions.

“Taliban are mobilising Pashtuns to subjugate Tajiks who do not accept Taliban rule. The militias are deliberately killing civilian Tajiks, which is a war crime. Many denied it in the past, but Afghanistan is entering a new phase of interethnic war. Why should Tajiks accept Taliban rule?” Omar Sadr an analyst and research scholar said.

Fawad Poya a human rights activist reacting to current situation said that conflict in Panjshir cleared that calling the Taliban the puppet of “Punjab” is something trivial and invented. Taliban are recruiting from Khost, Paktia, Uruzgan, Zabul, Kandahar, and Helmand, it projects that Taliban are not strangers, rather, they are representatives of Pashtuns in rural areas. He added that attack of Pashtuns from south on north is declining the age of a country named “Afghanistan.”

A university lecturer, Yaqub Yasna, also reacted to gather of people in south of Afghanistan to attack on north. He said Mullah Yaqoob, defense minister of Taliban ignored the attack of Pakistan on Khost and southern parts for their interest. But gatheres people from Khost and southern parts to kill Tajiks in north.

“How will be the future of fellow citizenship with this group?” He asked.

The reactions came after Taliban’s military campaign to deploy hundreds of fighters from south to north which has engendered the fear of an ethnic conflict.
