The death toll as a result of recent devastating earthquakes has crossed over 8200, international mwdia outlets have reported.
The reports indicate that 5900 people in Turkey and 2300 others killed in Syria, and 34000 others have been injured in both countries.
WHO has warned that the earthquake may impact 23 million people in both countries. The organization had earlier said that the number of victims would rise upto eight times.
Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has declared 10 southern provinces of Turkey, impacted by earthquake, as area hit by catastrophe, as well as a three-month state of emergency in the region.
Erdogan said his government would send more than 50,000 aid workers to the area and allocate 100 billion liras ($5.3 billion) in financial help.
Over 941 buildings have been collapsed in Turkish city of Kahramanmaras, and more than 8,000 people have survived who were caught.
