World Health Organization in its latest report says that since February 2020 to week 3 of last month, 7,539 people died of COVID 19 in Afghanistan.
According to WHO overall 4,749 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported among healthcare workers (HCWs) since 2020.
According to this report cumulatively, 172,205 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Afghanistan since February 2020.
In the meantime, the death toll has been reported 4.3% in the country.
The report reiterates that overall 533,156 cases have been tested in public laboratories until week 07 of 2022.
In these seven weeks from 4,170 cases 1,601 of them were positive cases of COVID-19 and 43 of them have lost their lives so far.
The news comes as 5 million people in Afghanistan have been vaccinated up to now.
Test of COVID 19 is limited in Afghanistan, and doctors say that death toll can be more than what has been reported.
