US President, Joe Biden, yesterday in a press conference said that he is convinced president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, has made the decision to invade Ukraine. But emphasized that there is still room for diplomacy.
Biden said that Russia can still choose diplomacy, and it is not too late to de-escalate and return to the negotiating table.
“We have reason to believe the Russian forces are planning and intend to attack Ukraine in the coming week, in the coming days,” Biden said in remarks at the White House. “We believe that they will target Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, a city of 2.8 million innocent people.”
Biden administration has repeatedly said there are diplomatic solutions if Russia wants. But the US and its allies are ready to impose heavy sanctions if Russia decides to attack on Ukraine.
The news comes as Russia has repeatedly rejected any plans to invade Ukraine.
