by Aamaj News

The US President, Joe Biden, expressed his concern about the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan. He said that women and girls are facing increased repression in this country under the rule of Taliban.

He reiterated women must enjoy equal rights around the world.

Mr. Biden delivering his remarks before the 77th Session of the United Nations General Assembly stated the US constantly support human rights.

He said that the Taliban are denying the right of children and women in particular the ones who are resisting against them while referring to the restrictions against women in Afghanistan.

“We stand with the brave citizens and the brave women of Iran who right now are demonstrating to secure their basic rights,” he said while pointing to the protests in Iran because of Mahsa Amini.

The news comes as the Taliban have always emphasized that they respect women’s rights within an Islamic framework.
