The US, and other 20 countries releasing a statement have condemned the Taliban over killing and disappearing former national security and defense forces.

The countries emphasized that summary killings of former Afghan security forces contradict the announced amnesty of Taliban.

“We call on the Taliban to effectively enforce the amnesty for former members of the Afghan security forces and former Government officials to ensure that it is upheld across the country and throughout their ranks,” they called on the Taliban in the statement.

They underlined that reported cases must be investigated promptly and in a transparent manner, those responsible must be held accountable, and these steps must be clearly publicized as an immediate deterrent to further killings and disappearances.

They also said that they will judge the Taliban by their deeds and actions.

The news comes as earlier the Human Rights Watch releasing a report said that Taliban fighters have killed or disappeared more than 100 former security forces after their domination.
